Our Story
For close to 30 years, the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation has been raising funds to help ensure a healthier and stronger community. Our goal? To keep healthcare close to home. We’re an independent, charitable organization governed by a dedicated group of volunteers. And they all just happen to be our neighbours and friends.
Why Support the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation
We hope (we really hope) you don’t need to use our local hospital anytime soon. But if you do, we’d like to know that you received the best care possible.
While the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care offers some support for basic healthcare needs, it doesn’t fully cover the costs of new medical equipment and facility upgrades. That’s where we step in.
Every year, we provide funding to the hospital for essential medical equipment, services and capital improvements, all with the goal of keeping healthcare close to home.
But here’s the crucial part: we can’t do it alone. We rely on the kindness and generosity of people like you to help us finance vital equipment and capital projects that invest in the future of our community’s care.

Amanda ChalkCoordinator of Communications,
Events & Major Gifts
A resident of Lennox and Addington for over 20 years, Amanda joined the Foundation’s office staff as Program Coordinator in November 2021. Her combined experience in graphic design and public relations, as well as her community involvement and strategic thinking, have led her to be a great asset to the team.
When not planning the Foundation’s next big fundraising event and building our social channels, Amanda can be found spending time with family and sharing their combined passions for health and wellness through Crossfit and Disney vacations.

Amber RichardsonOffice Administrator
Born and raised in Oshawa, Amber spent her summers on Beaver Lake. After finishing her degree in Legal Studies at Trent University Amber moved to Lennox and Addington full time. With 5 years of experience overseeing office operations and data management, Amber’s passion for accessible healthcare led her to join the LACGH Foundations staff in 2023 as the Office Administrator. When not working Amber can be found volunteering with animals and enjoying the outdoors.

Gift of Securities and Stock Options
You can make a gift of securities and stock options to the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation by transferring publicly traded shares from your brokerage account directly to our investment account. Plus, you get some benefits as a donor:

Life Insurance Gifting
With the gift of life insurance, you have options – you can name the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation as the beneficiary or transfer the policy ownership while continuing to pay premiums.

- After transferring policy ownership, you'll receive income tax receipts for premiums.

Gifts in Your Will
Leave a gift in your will to the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation. It can be a specific amount, a percentage of the estate, or a valuable item. Benefits for you:
- Your bequest can be of any value to support healthcare in our area.
- You can make a larger gift to the Foundation without immediate outlay.
- An income tax receipt to the estate will reduce income tax owing.

RRSPs / RRIFs
Consider naming the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation as beneficiary of your RRSP or RRIF and your estate will benefit by receiving an income tax receipt which will offset tax owing.
Gifts-In-Kind
The Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation will consider accepting gifts in kind provided they further the vision and mission of the organization. Acceptable gifts-in-kind include listed and fixed value preferred shares (a common tool used by business owners for financial and tax planning), real estate, gifts of interest in real estate and trusts. Please note the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation does not accept gifts of cryptocurrency. However, donors can sell the cryptocurrency and donate the cash to the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation.
