Now Hiring: Events Assistant

The Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation is seeking an Events Assistant to support our fundraising and community outreach activities on a contract basis from May 1 to August 31, 2024. This position is based out of our office located inside the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital, with typical weekday hours, some weekends and flexibility for remote work.

Reporting to the Coordinator of Communications, Events and Major Gifts, this temporary position will enjoy the benefits of learning from skilled colleagues willing to assist with professional development to help achieve your short term and long term career goals.

About the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation

For close to 30 years, the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation has been raising funds to help ensure a healthier and stronger community. Our goal? To keep healthcare close to home.
We’re an independent, charitable organization governed by a dedicated group of volunteers. And they all just happen to be our neighbours and friends.

Every year, we provide funding to the hospital for essential medical equipment, services and capital improvements, all with the goal of keeping healthcare close to home.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

In this role you will:

  • Assist with executing event tasks for Ride for MRI and the annual golf tournament
  • Provide social media marketing and website content support
  • Assist with organizing suppliers and vendors for community partner events
  • Conduct research and one-off projects from time to time when required
  • General office duties and support as required

 Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish positive relationships with a broad range of internal and external partners including LACGH Foundation staff, board members and donors, hospital volunteers, hospital staff and the general public in a professional and courteous manner
  • Enjoy working as part of a team but also value independent work
  • Comfortable working in an office setting as well as out in public representing the LACGH Foundation
  • Familiar with social media channels and engagement strategies
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Considerable initiative, strong attention to detail and good judgement
  • Familiarity with the County of Lennox and Addington and surrounding communities an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative and Canva
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information
  • Some post-secondary education required

Other Job Requirements / Working Conditions

  • This position is based out of the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital in a shared office
  • Flexibility to work periodic non-traditional work hours that might include evenings and weekends based on operation needs
  • Criminal background check and signed confidentiality agreement
  • Valid drivers license and regular access to a vehicle
